We do whatever it takes  to share this good news with the world God still loves.

We “Disciples” (as we call ourselves for short) always come back to the table of our Lord. When we say that all are welcome here, we truly mean ALL—no matter where you’ve come from, what you’ve done, what’s been done to you, or what you haven’t figured out yet. We come because Jesus is the one doing the inviting, and we haven’t met anyone yet whom Jesus wouldn’t eat with.

First Christian Church is a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) community that believes God is calling us to demonstrate true community and deep spirituality through seeking wisdom and embodying forgiveness, reconciliation, justice, generosity, and hope.

Central to the worship service is the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper (also known as Communion or the Eucharist), which is offered each week to anyone who would like to participate. A typical service includes several congregational hymns (accompanied by pipe organ or piano), a time to lift up the joys and concerns of our community in prayer, an offering to share our gifts with the church, a scripture reading, and a sermon that reflects on a passage from the Bible and interprets its meaning for our lives.

At the end of each service, there is an invitation for anyone who wishes to join in formal membership to come forward and do so. While we are always glad to welcome new members, you are welcome to participate in nearly every aspect of church life without officially making that commitment.

We welcome and affirm the gifts of the diverse human family. We profess a faith that transcends the racial, ethnic, and national boundaries that often divide our world, and we commit ourselves to the work of reconciliation. We make space for diverse biblical interpretations and theological understandings, a range of ages and abilities, varied sexual orientations and gender identities, and different passions and political perspectives.

Sunday Morning Worship is Every Sunday in-Person & online  starting at 10:30am Central Time

A Place for Everyone: Where Love Welcomes All

We believe that, whoever you are, you are valuable, worthy of love, and already part of what God is doing in the world. Here, we strive to be people with open minds and loving hearts — a place where all are welcome. And yes, "all" really does mean all. No hidden agendas or litmus tests.

Rooted in Christ, United in Purpose

We gather—despite differences in politics, age, orientation, race, ability, or theology—because we share a deep love for God revealed in Christ Jesus.

In a fractured world shaped by labels, our calling is to heal through love and service to God. We’re here to make disciples, period. We welcome everyone to join in Jesus’ work: bringing good news to the poor, sight to the blind, freedom to the captive, and declaring that this is God’s time to shine.

We hold to what a wise man said nearly 3,000 years ago: that God asks us to live justly, love kindly, and walk humbly.

Disciples of Christ Identity Statement

We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.
As part of the one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord's Table as God has welcomed us.
