Prayer Shawl Ministry

Members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry meet on Sundays at noon and usually stay until 2:30 pm. Some knit and some crochet, but no previous skills are required. This meaningful ministry is open to anyone interested in sharing together in prayer and care. Men are welcome, also!

As a shawl is completed, the members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry gather around and collectively bless it, including blessings for the person who will receive it. Then two or three of the members take it to the recipient, praying with them again the Prayer of Blessing. Every semester, student doctors from the Community Eye Clinic are presented a prayer shawl as well.
