Our Staff

Senior Minister since July of 2001, Tom Plumbley is a graduate of Texas Christian University. He also studied in the law school and the divinity school of Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Prior to coming to Fort Worth, he served churches in Missouri, in California, and most recently in Dallas. He and his wife, Patty, have two adult sons and five grandchildren. He was the founding president of Texans Against Violence, and was named Minister of the Year in the Christian Church of the Southwest in 2013. He's a panelist on the American Religious Townhall Meeting, the world's oldest televised religious talk show.

Keith is a very accomplished musician with a great deal of experience in choral directing. Prior to coming to First Christian Church, he was a music instructor and coordinator of vocal studies at Texas Wesleyan University. Before that he was at Brite Divinity School and TCU, SWBTS, and Appalachian State University. Keith grew up a Baptist in North Carolina. Since coming to Texas in 1999, he has served as Music Director in several churches, as well as leading handbells, and playing both the piano and organ.

Jan Shelton
Director of Music for Children and Youth
Jan Shelton has music degrees from Texas Wesleyan University and Texas Christian University. She is retired from the Fort Worth Independent School District. At First Christian Church she directs three choirs: The Cherub Choir for pre-schoolers ages 4-5, the Choristers for kindergarten – 4th graders, and the Youth Chorale for 5th – 12th graders.

Mary Mason
Handbell Director
Mary Mason has a degree from Texas Wesleyan University. Mary leads the bells in special worship music each month.

Trisha Bell retired from a career in management with Kroger on May 30, 2024. Prior to working for Kroger she lived the entrepreneur life, running various businesses with her husband. While living in Galveston she served two terms on the city council and produced a 28-page newspaper for the community of Bayou Vista.
